ok I was gone but I am back, yet again!

I know I've said that many, many times before, but I just went premium again! When you pay for something, you are more likely to use it! 😂

I am not sure what I will choose to do this time around, but I will have my Sissypoooooooooooo with me! ♥

Me again

Why does it seem that I only write here once a year? IT WAS GIRL SCOUTS! I swear!!!! 

((And I had a RL in person friend and we were doing stuff OUTSIDE!) She has now moved to Pennsylvania and I miss her terribly, but we can't just pick up and go to the mall now, can we.)

Well the daughter told me the other day she is done with GS and wants to do gymnastics or cheer leading. Now I have to figure out how to get her into one of those!

Anyhow - Dakk was back then gone then back then gone then back then gone. No wonder ya'll were confused! 

Hopefully I am back this time. For good! Giggle. 

Well, I am back! Hopefully for some time this time. A year is way too long to be away, especially when I am a premium member. I hope to get this blog back up and running along with blogging about creator/designer's items and I am still going to be the Vampire/Gothy/steampunky/belly dancing/photography/and hopefully DJing-ish persona I was and hope to be. Maybe even design some clothes in there too. Maybe I will just do it all!  Oh don't forget being a mermaid and shopaholic....

My Human is still bumbling through RL and is working through the pain and memory loss. Autumn is back at school and on the AB Honor Roll! IF you get to know me in SL really well, I may just let you into my my human's  RL world. I do have some SL friends who have made it over  and vice verse  BUT you will never know who is who in this crazy life of mine.

I and my human will be having to weave the two worlds around each other and not let it get so out of balance like it was a year ago. The human has RL responsibilities that need to be taken care of  Like her  9 year old daughter, the cats, fish. reptiles (currently there is a Veiled Chameleon and a Bearded Dragon) and the human's RL husband. 


Don't let the fact that the human does have a RL husband scare you away.they have an agreement - FLIRTING  is A-OK along with dancing and cuddling. No SL Sex tho. Sorry bout that, but that is the way it has to be. A promise is a promise and both the human and I take promises very seriously. Although he probably would think it was very funny to  watch....

I am back again! lol Hopefully for good this time! I have missed my online life. RL is good too but I am now going to find a balance between the two. I have so many SL friends that I missed. It feels good to be home.

I am having to learn everything from scratch - new viewer and mesh - it is everywhere! I will get it through once I do, they will change it again! 

Well that is all I am going to write for now. I have a huge post building up in my mind ... so keep your eyes out for it!

Back to School Week here...

It has been a back to school week this week and my human has been pretty busy with getting her kidlet ready and working on learning what she needs to learn for Girl Scouts as she is now a leader. That left poor me, Dakkerella in the dark and out of commission for a week. 

Hopefully this will all change now that things will be settlening down. Coming up for a product blog will be a few items from Allure, so keep your eyes out for that. 

Today is human's first Girl Scout meeting so hopefully things will go well for her.  I am not having any kids. 

At 527 years old - I just can't keep up with all their hi jinks! besides I don't want to be tempted to bite them. You never know.

Arrrrrr, Avast Ye Maties!

Yes I am talking like a pirate and it isn't even Talk Like a Pirate Day (Sept 19th).  Why, you may ask...


...well, Ragdollz, home of a variety of wonderfully made theme clothes from Steampunk to Vampires, has just released three wonderful pirate themed outfits!  

First up we have Marietta and Derek. Released separately, they work well as a couple theme. The flow on the gown is amazing and your man in Derek will be the most talked about pirate out there.  Derek is being modeled by Nyte Venom.

This beautiful gown is called Captured My Heart and it is sure to wow them even if you are not trying for a pirate look. The delecate lace overlay and tight fitting corset makes your figure alluring!

These outfits are available only during the Pirate Hunt. You need to hurry as the hunt end this Sunday at midnight!

Its Click!

One of my favorite builders in Second Life, is Flix Salman. He doesn't build regular houses or cars or even make clothes. Flix creates wonderful Photography Scenes & Props. 


If you own more than one scene there is no need for lots of space to have the scenes out as his unique rezzing system uses just a 15x15 footprint. His scenes are very realistic, contain multiple poses  by Xoxo by ania, Glitterati and others and  they have cut away walls for shooting the scene from almost any angle.

Time with friends and family

Tonight was a good night. 


The first thing I did when I came in was hang out at a club called MoMo's. The club itself has a laid back beach feel and the music is varied. Each DJ has his own style. The mood is upbeat and fun as the spatial (local) chat goes whizzing by so fast that you should take speed reading lessons! 


The DJs and Hosts were super friendly and spent time chatting with me even though the club was pretty busy. They run a theme contest that lasts 2 hours each. While I was there the first theme was Best in Tats and the second one was Best in Goth. As I was leaving they announced the next contest as Horror. 


I would have stayed longer but I wanted to go to get some ideas worked out that I had running through my head.   I did not get much done but I did had a blast with my sissypoo Desiree Lurra and a good friend named Jon Scot.. Mostly we chatted, did a little shopping (how can anyone go a day with out buying something in SL?) and hung out.  


It was wonderful to reconnect with my old friends that I had not talked to since I had to leave for my surgery, and making new friends for me is always a thrill. 


I can't believe it is already 4am EST! Where does the time go? It just keeps "Slipping,, slipping slipping, into the future!"

Writing Poetry

Sometimes the mood just strikes me to write --anything. Get that penlil moving on that paper and just see what comes out.


The other day I met my friend at a poetry reading and everyone in the circle was sharing. I felt very timid to share what I wrote because it was written very hastily the evening before. 


Time: The night before: We were just standing around and Desiree was sharing some of her poetry. (Which is AMAZING) by the way!) Then a couple more friends shared some of their writing. I wanted to share something too so I frantically put pen to paper and wrote a poem.  My friends seemed to love it - but they had to say that as they are my friends! End:The night before


Here is said poem:

Rebirth

I met you a long time ago

in my dreams in the dark

you were calling to me...

I saw you and my heart stopped,

There you were

as you appeared in my dreams.

Scared and in awe was I .

How could I know what was in store for me

That fateful night

When you touched me 

I could feel your cold skin

send shivers of ice down my spine

and yet it was hot like fire.

Slowly you took me in your arms

Barely a whisper you spoke in my ear,

"You will be mine."

Then your breath on my neck

It was if time stood still then

a bite was all. 

I could feel my life slipping away

but yet 

I was not scared

To the brink of death you took me

And then a

Taste of blood on my lips

I was reborn into the night.

The poetry circle just kind of looked at me funny. I guess I should have told them Dakk is a Vampire. LOL

Time to dust off the pollen off this old blog of mine and catch you all up!

I get so many things I want to say here then, of course, with my brain, I forget to write them out. One of the bad things about being a Dakk. LOL 


One item is that I have become a part time vampire. I know, I know... Sad isn't it. I haven't left my clan or anything, and on Face Book we still play exchange the Vampire Candy (It drives my RL relatives NUTS!)  Hey you all can come and visit me there too! LOL I am all over the internet you know! Just look for dakk_mcdunnough or various forms there of. 


One really exciting thing is that I have started making fun and fanciful clothes and what nots! The name of the line is ... get this...it is so original you won't believe it... Dakk Attack!  LMAO.  So I made a group for it call Dakk Attack as well it is free to join I will be working on getting the basics in but when I am done I will be sending out notices for new items, hunts, and group gifts!  My current and only location is on a new sim named Moon Rose Cove.  


I have been out of  SL for a few days. My power cord on the lap top went the way of broken laptop cords where ever that may be. I hope to be in tonight some time. I say hope because while I was using hubs laptop (I could use it for mail and stuff like that - could not install SL) I logged into NetFlix and am absolutely hooked on the 1967 soap opera Dark Shadows.  It is that temporary Vampire in me. Oh Barnabas if only you were a GOOD looking Vampire I would be your Josette! OK, off to try to finish the second season. I will try not to start the 1990s revival of the show.  giggle

Strike a POSE!

Greetings Everyone!

Today I write on something very important in my second life. Something that I have come to love with all my heart. That is Poses. I can't help it, I am addicted to them! I have to collect them, the more I have of them the more I want! I especially love poses that come with Props!

This NEED that I have had me running around like a crazy woman, (ok, ok, so I AM a crazy woman), it had me running around like a chicken with my head cut off, looking for pose stores. Do you know it is almost impossible to find all the pose stores out there? How many wonderful pose makers there are that do not get noticed? Oh my goodness!! I had no idea until I found a godsend the day I tripped over this wonderful group called Pro Posers!  They have a coalition of pose-makers of the highest caliber all under one roof so to speak.

You really need to join this group if you are a photographer, builder, or like me - are just pose crazy!  You can be notified when a pose-maker has a new release, sale or sometimes you receive little gifties! Believe me, you will be very happy joining this group! Even before they gave us more than 25 groups I would always make sure I kept Pro Posers!

Right now, Until February 15, 2011, Proposers Group is holding its 3rd Grid Wide Pose Hunt! There are around 50 pose makers participating! I have started the hunt myself and it is very fun, challenging AND the poses are wonderful!The hunt is sponsored by  BOSL, AVENUE, SCULPTZ, MANIERA, ICON, MOOLTO, RADAR, OK, E STYLE & SECONDLIGHTS.

I VANT TO ESCAPE

I wonder just how many celebrities play Second Life as an escape from being famous. Second Life does give everyone a chance to be someone they aren't.  I met this guy the other day who is pretty new to SL and is in my Vampire clan - he caught on to SL really fast - and he was really nice - we talked for a long time about life in SL and being Vampires and bringing in new vampires yadda, yadda, yadda - :-)~   I swear to you --- he sounded like Owen Wilson.  Well Maxine and I looked Owen up on the net. Owen is from TX and our southern gentleman caller was from NC. oh well he was still nice to to talk to and his voice was really nice. :-) lol   but it does set me to wondering

How many famous people escape into the world of MMORPGs as a way of loosing the Fame for just a little while?

Crazy 1st and 2nd lives!

First Life First! -I missed two very important doctor appointments I thought were on Tuesday that were on Monday but were scheduled for the same time - but one they didn't have my info from the PCP anyway so oh well. Anxiety attack over a notice that the registration on our vehicle was suspended - those of you who know me understand those who don't will have to ponder and wonder and say "wha?" but today I found out it was on a truck we USED to have not the one we have now.

I love my Second Life. I love everyone in my Second Life. I really do. Honest and for true. I don't really know how to roll play and my first life rolls over into my second life and they get tangled together like threads in a tapestry. I do want to learn how to do more RP. But you will always get the essence of me.

Why? Well, I am kinda home bound due to several things that I may write about in the future. Heck I don't know if anyone even reads this now. lol I may be just writing for the sake of seeing myself on the net. (Hey if you do read can you please at least check one of the quick Reaction boxes on the bottom - Funny, smart, cool or stupid - just to let me know someone is reading? lol thanks)

But yes I am mostly house bound. I get out to go to the doctor or to the grocery store or if hubs feel up to going for a ride in the mountains. My only Adult contact in my Real Life is my husband and my Father In Law (always referred to as FIL) My doctors actually told me TO play SL as much as I want because of this. I try to balance it so I spend good quality time with Hubs and Autumn (My Daughter - she is 6 and in the 1st grade - you would think she is older she is so smart!)

Now on to my Second Life! - It was raining on Monday so that meant relatively no internet so no 2nd life. so I missed a rehearsal for a modeling show that I was to be in yesterday - I had to be replaced - I felt awful not just for myself but for letting down the company I was to do the show with. It was not a small Deelio - they are quite well known. I had a cry over that.

I am also working on some things for a magazine and it is going slow - both because my RL -SL and my brain are trying to fight each other and because I want it to be one of the best things I write.

Also I am busy working on a land project with two of my best friends Desiree Lurra and Eccoelite Swordthian - we are hoping to have it ready to go in time for the Halloween Party we have planned for Saturday October 30th - we are having this WITH our Clan's Club - Embraced - I will be sending out invitations so please drop me a note card if you would like an invite so I can get one out to you.

My Life in Land Marks!

Did you know that you can tell allot about a person in the real world just by looking at their check book registry? It’s true! Unless you put everything on credit cards!
I will prove it to you. Take a moment to run and get yours out of your wallet or pocket book or where ever you keep yours hidden.

What you mean you don't write everything down in that little paper journal for deposits and withdraws! You don't even save receipts? Oh my, that IS telling, but there is more for those of you who do keep records! Even those who use online banking like Quicken.

Ok, everyone back yet? I will wait a few more seconds for the stragglers then I have to move on. *tapping foot to the music* You can't hear the music? I can't help that. You have to put your radio on to hear music, I can't do everything for you, you know!

Now that everyone is here I want you to open your register and look at what it says - if it anything like my humans it reads something like this:

Now that school has started start adding in things like PTA, Fundraiser this and Fundraiser That... Pretty much spot on, am I right?

Applying the same principle to Second Life, if we open our Land Marks folder we see practically every place we have been, have clothes or items from, or searched for. I was amazed at everywhere I had gone in the last couple years. I had been to some pretty strange places by the names!

Unfortunately for me, most of the places, on the other end of the Land Mark, no longer existed. Some of my most favorite clothing stores are gone, one of them being Wrong, and in the art division I miss A Virtual Starry Night - the Van Gogh museum.

The same thing happens in the Real Life too. Favorite stores of my human's were gone when she went on vacation to visit her mom.

Hello Everyone!

Does this color make my butt look FAT?

That is one good thing about Second Life is that we don't have to worry about our weight. Thank goodness. As the human frets and worries about numbers on the scale, flying buttons, the sometime sound of "RRRRIIIIIPPPPPP at the most inopportune time, and the dreaded shopping for Bathing Suit season; the SL Avatar is free to bound about trying on demos of what is the newest trend in boots or dresses and, yes, bathing suits!

Have a flat butt - just add a little number on the slider and do not spend the money on the "Booty Pop" panties they advertise on TV! Too much on top, bring it down a notch - too small on top a couple of notches up will do thank you... trying to stay young - 25 forever and nary a plastic surgeon in sight! giggle

Someone asked me how old I was so I said 7'4" there abouts in Second Life. They said no no no, In Real Life. I usually have no problem telling those things to my friends, I am pretty much an open book, but to someone I just met... not so much. I play the age I FEEL I am inside. Dakk's age varies some days I feel young and some days I am very old. I am a Vampire you know. LOL

I am so happy that we are such a diverse bunch of people on the RL side of the screen and that the SL side lets us get to learn about each other from all over the world. We may never get to meet each other in real life, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that we all make that connection of friendship that would NEVER been made with out Second Life. We get a chance to learn from each other, or just have a bunch of laughter and fun.

So, Does this color make my butt look fat?

I am sooo sorry I have been lax on blogging

my health has kept me from blogging - I WILL make it up to you I promise! I will contact my my contacts and hopefully I will be able to have some items to write about - not just clothing but items as poses and maybe appliances or something. LOL and my Plurk friends I promise to get back over there and post there again. I have been fighting migraine headaches and my usual problems I won't burden you all with. Oh I will also bog about places! really I am ready to have F
