Today's Day

Today was a pretty good day. I am starting to do things on my own. I was just popping in and out of stores looking at clothes and poses Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh and SHOES! Cherry is having a 50% off sale to make room for their new styles- Fat Packs are not on sale though. I scooped up a few pairs of those bad boys for sure!

It is funny - I never really cared about shoes in SL until I went to meet Fia Bonetto for the first time. It was my interview for her agency-the first words out of her mouth were "I don't like your shoes. Make sure you get rid of those before I see you again." LOL

Since then I am very conscious of my shoes. LOL Funny.

So that was my day. Not very interesting but it was mine. :-)

A Promise Kept!

Today, as promised yesterday, I have for you two outfits from Kissed by Lithium. I also threw in some poses from Adorkable Poses! These designers keep amazing me every time I see something from them.

First from Kissed By Lithium (KBL) we have Diazapam. A cute little number with a body suit, flexi skirt and tutu skirt. I am wearing purple but it also comes in brown, black and blue. I just loved the tutu skirt so I wore that one in the shots. . I really loved the delicate open lace between the bra top and the bikini bottom on the body suit. You will probably see me running around SL in this number a LOT this spring now I need to find me a really cute pair of flops that are NOT the kind the foam kind I usually end up getting. (Hey I am still pretty new to this Fashionista thing)

This second offering from KBL is Oxycontin, a cute little pair of short shorts and a bandeau top available in blue, green, brown, and purple. It is great for those hot summer nights for going out to the clubs or even just staying home. The satin is a beautiful material for this outfit because it shows off the curves nicely.

The pose screens are from Adorkable Poses. (See Ms Peapod! I actually was able to get one done!) Any way these screens are AMAZING! She has put several poses in them so more than
one person can have fun! Imagine one person hanging upside down while another is trying to tip it over! it is menu driven so it makes it easy to change poses too. This is super for Photograhers as well as anyone who just likes to have fun with poses. :-)

Okies I have to give my old fingers a rest. The fibromyalgia is cramping my fingers and making it a bit hard to type and if I am in SL I am going to need to use voice chat! LOL

See ya in my Second Life!

Fantasy Faire is now Over

I am sad it is. I got to sneak in today whilst the vendors started packing up. It was very sad seeing the empty booths, but I did get to see a lot of things the vendors did have as wares AND I gathered a lot of Land Marks so I can visit their shops at my leisure.

I did find this one place - totally by accident as there wasn't a sign to it - it was behind the Mer Market. There was a pirate ship back there in a lagoon. I wanted to see what was over there and into the water I jumped- and it was not a shallow lagoon either. Good thing SL we don't really breathe!

As I plummeted to the bottom of the deep lagoon I landed with a semi hard thud. (well water does slow you down a bit). When I stood up and was able to look around I was amazed! Had I known what I had seen was there guess where I would have taken ALL my photos for my blog! Yep you got it! It was actually a booth for Garden of Da Vinci, a wonderus place on Kalepa Sim created by Felixx Sheppard.

I found myself in some ruins looking directly into the eye of an octopus! He was as curious about me as I was about him!

I found the coral and got on a ride-able sea horse and took a ride around his display. I had hoped it was larger than what it was but I got the landmark to the sim and I plan on going back. His sim has more than just what is under water! There is a castle and oh so much more.

I have not been having luck with putting SLURLs in here so all you have to do is search for Gardens of Da Vinci and there it is!

now I am taking a short break my fingers are tired - tomorrow I have some outfits from Kissed by Lithium to tell you all about... giggle... I am such a tease!

Mermaid's Tale / Tail

Morgana Price has a beautiful tail for Relay for life it is called the Tulip Marrow. It is in a gorgeous color of blue with a beautiful tulip

petal design on all the fins, fin skirt and dainty faerie wings! I had to give you a back view so you could see it! This tail would be

wonderful for participating in a mermaid ballet! I can see the mermaid ballerinas dancing across the stage! Beautiful!

CelestialRay Serpente owner of Rose Princess has a very regal mermaid tail. It is actually part of a three piece set that includes the tail a gown and a bridal dress - I only have time to write about the mermaid tail. And what a tail it is. I imagine this tail is that of a queen or a princess or a good farie mermaid or someone like Glenda the Good Witch of the North.

Well with these last two Mermaids we come to the end of my Fantasy Faire Journey. It has been fun writing about these beautiful tails but I couldn't end my journey with out telling you about the beginning - the way I found out about Mer People in Second Life. And that all begins with one Photo shoot two years ago for a wonderful designer named Alice Biondi.

She is not just a mer designer - in fact this year her booth is set up in Elven Court but she let me in on two of her current tails and her RLF bracelet. I fell in love with mermaids that day 2 years ago! Alice and I have kept in touch regularly, but I had no idea mer people were this popular until this Fantasy Faire! Thank you, Alice, for that first glimpse of the wonderful world of Mermaids. If it weren't for you I would not have visited, let along blogging for, the Fantasy Fair!

This first mermaid is called the Fisherman's Wife. I need to ask her about why it is named that. I bet she has a grand story to tell. It is a brilliant shade of green with long flowing fins as well as some feather is looking fins around the bottom of the tail. Around the waist is a satchel/belt/scarf I wasn't able to tell but it was very pretty.

The Second Mer tail I tried on was even more amazing than the first. It is called Icelanta and the mer really shows the Ice part off in shades of blue and white! This one came with a skin and eyes. The hair I had in my inventory (I am not sure of the designer so if anyone out there can give me info on that I would love to have it) The tail fins move gracefully and the arm cuffs and the hip fins add a beautiful touch.

The RFL Bracelet is very beautiful. It is simple, cute, and amazing all at the same time. I really looked at it and was amazed at the detail that went into this piece. From the braided silver to the glass flower charm that lets the color behind it through (look at it - it shows my skin tone with both skins shine through!) it looks so real. I want one for my First Life!

Once Upon a Time..

... A MerVillage had been destroyed. Everyone had moved to deeper waters for their safety. It was very cold in the deeper waters. There was one mermaid who did not like it at all. Her family told her to stay away from the ruins. When she asked why she had to stay away from the ruins where the warm waters were, they explained that it was destroyed by man and they did not want to risk having her hurt or even worse, murdered! She contemplated this for a while.
She hated disobeying her family, but she was so cold the thought of warmer waters was too compelling she couldn't help it. She had to go back. Something was drawing her there. Was it just the warm water or something else? "Man? What is man?," she thought to herself, "Man cannot be all bad. We have Mermen and they are a type of man, aren't they?" Before she knew it she was at the ruins.

The warm water felt so good! She was home. She was warm!
In fact she was having such a good time that she did not see the man on the bank of the water above her. He had thought he had heard splashing and thought someone may be in trouble so he took off his boots, armor and shirt and jumped in to try to save who ever he had thought was drowning.
He was completely startled as she swam over to him to get a closer look. They stared into each others eyes for what seemed like an eternity, but was only a few moments, as humans cannot breathe under water.

She swam away as he broke the surface of the water. Did he see what he thought he saw? Did she just see a human? "too bad he cannot breathe under water," she thought at the same time he was thinking, "too bad she is a fish."

I hope you liked that little story - below are the items from that Story:

The Purple Mermaid Sleved Tail, & Ruins are from Mermaid Reef - Suki Hawker
The tail is different from any others that I have seen so far. For one it shows more skin on the legs and thighs than most tails do. it also comes with three different arm cuffs that you can wear if you want to. crab claw, star fish or plain. if you touch the fins you will get a menu with things that you (or anyone) can do to the mermaid - in words -- like hug, lick, play, etc.
The Ruins are beautiful! Much larger than I expected which is always nice! the realistic stone texture was amazing. If I were creating any kind of undersea habitat I definitely would want to use the ruins.

Pose Balls - Falling into you - Kit Jefes- Kindred Souls
This is a great pose not only for mer people but for anyone who wants a cute couple pose. I really liked it.

The following tail is by Suki Hawker - Mermaid Reef

This Mer tail is a bit more for the bad girl in most of us that wants to get out. (many of you already let her out!) It is called The Sheer Latex Tail.

It has a really flowing tail that is indeed sheer. There are two sizes of scales in the front. High and Low. Low is really low... it shows everything in the nether regions so make sure you have had your waxing done.

Arm Bands, Collar, Chains, Chain Belt - you could be a Mermaid Biker! OK, I know, driving the bike is awkward side saddle. It was just a thought.
Close up of the chains on the belt - this one has the menu driven fins as well.
Oh did I forget to mention it comes with this ball gag?
Dang I hoped you wouldn't have reminded me, Suki.

The Fantasy Faire is running until April 25th! Come out and get your Fantasy On!

A big Thank you to my friend Kevin Fielding for letting me use him in my story! :-)

Things are Going Swimmingly!

Today, April 19, 2010, marks the first day of the Fantasy Faire here in Second Life! Here you will find eight full SIMs, each with its own theme: Mer Market, Wings, Wands & Wonders, Elven Court, Dark Realms, Avatopia, Neko Industrial, Via Obscura and Sector Sci-Fi. There is something for everyone here, and I know to see the whole thing you will need more than one day!
I stopped by the Fantasy Faire early this morning. I did not even make it past the first couple of booths! I was in Mer Heaven! But, alas, I had to leave to start my blogging on the beautiful items from the Mer Market vendors that I had been assigned to. Do you get the connection with the title of the entry? Sometimes my wit scares me.
The best part of this event, besides the 8 FULL SIMs of Fantasy items, is that proceeds from the sale of certain items will go to Relay for Life! How can you beat buying your Fantasy clothes, wands, wings, tails and other items while helping Relay for Life at the same time?
Today I am focusing on Pacific Sunrise
~ Jade Wolfenhaut.
The first tail I tried was the Snowflake Eel Tail.
This is a really simple but unique tail that comes in two lengths, has nice petals to please even the most modest of Mermaids. The tail has a unique pattern and is a very nice color of white that will look good on any skin tone. And there is no fashion rule about not wearing a white mermaid tail after Labor Day!
The second mermaid tail I reveled in was the Beta Tail. This tail is a beautiful shade of blue and blue green. It comes with two different tops instead of petals. It has full fins on the feet, thighs, arms and ears! It moves so gracefully when you swim.
Here I have it paired with the Atlantis Necklace of Light – created by Tithis String, one of the designers in Jade Wolfenhaut’s store.

Close up of the Atlantis Necklace of Light.
Pacific Sunrise is one of the first booths you will see when you enter the Mer Market. Make a left onto the first street you come to and the booth is on your left side.
Since the Fantasy Faire is only running until the 25th, here is the SLURL to her main store http://slurl.com/secondlife/Pangaia/197/248/2001

Oh that human of mine

She is at it again!

I just don't know what I am going to do with her.

Spilling secrets that are really funny but do nothing to help ME with my life.

Here I need to gain some respectability and be able to do some writing on fashion reviews or reviews on other items like the one Carter gave me that I still have to write... and she is out there using MY time to write about HER life.

It isn't fair, I mean really, she takes time not only to write but also spend time with her husband and daughter but writing about them too.

She is so demanding of ME can you believe it? She said I had to give all of you the link to HER entry! It is a conspiracy I tells ya! Where is the justice in these worlds....

Ok, I better do it or she will not let me come out to play for a long time and I will miss all my friends. I may miss other opportunities I missed the last time I made her angry.

OK here is the stupid link

Grumble grumble

News Flash

There is a news flash written about the HUMAN behind Dakk (she uses the same name though sorta) by the human -- it is an article about her falling off the mountain chasing flying pork chops.

This is her Diary/Blog she has been writing in for over 6 years.
It is the first entry on the list named Ditzy Dakk Does Dumb Dive
Most of this diary is open for everyone to read so feel free to go all the way back to 2003 and read some of what she wrote about. Some of it is pretty funny, some is very sad, and some is about becoming a mom.
Oh and some of it is about ME! Dakk the SL Avatar! GO ME!

April Fool's Day

Well, today is April 1st. I am NOT an April Fool. By no means.

I am, however, a depressed bipolar human behind the lovely and vivacious and GROOVY avatar.

The human is working so hard to get the above in control. Mind you, she adores the up swing days on the bipolar spectrum - as her manic highs are around everyone's normal happy - just a little above that maybe - when she is on her manic side - she tends to talk a lot more - make jokes a lot more and is very giddy and she feels very artistic and has blasts of artistic creativity so she starts projects - is able to leave the confines of her room and get things done.

When she is on the low end of the bipolar she is really low. I mean LOW. If you have not dealt with depression, especially bipolar depression, you may not understand. Crying is a standard every few minutes for no reason and the not wanting to leave the safe area of the bedroom or what ever room is the safe zone.

The human here in question has bipolar mixed which is hard because both sides of the spectrum has parts of the other end mixed in. Like the racing thoughts of the high end is still present in the low end, etc.

So the human behind the hip and groovy Dakk is going through the down side right now - but it will pass. She will be in SL, as she has to pay tier on her lot and has other stuff to do - and hopefully seeing all her friends will help her hourglass turn around again to the up side.

But if you don't see her - just know she is still there - Her Human just needs to pick up her basket. :-)
